Can Otteroo be Used in Aquatic Therapy?Updated a year ago
Otteroo is intended to provide buoyancy to promote free movement in the water to support natural development and is not intended to diagnose, cure, mitigate, treat, or prevent a disease or condition.
That said, Otteroo has been used widely by many therapists since our inception in 2014. In 2017, we pursued registration as a class 1 medical device to enable more medical practitioners to have easy access to use Otteroo in their practice.
In 2022, the FDA challenged our class 1 registration and we are actively working with them to find an avenue to classify our floatie in a category they deem appropriate.
If you are interested in using Otteroo for aquatic therapy, we suggest you consult with your pediatrician/physical therapist to evaluate whether it is a right fit.
